Urgent Appointments

We will always deal with urgent requests the same day. All urgent requests will be triaged by one of our clinicians. They will either arrange an appointment with an appropriate clinician, or you will be advised on the best treatment for your request.

Routine Appointments

We have a wide range of appointment times available for both doctors and practice nurses. Appointments can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance.

GP appointments are generally set at 15 minutes and nurse appointments at 10 minutes. If you have more than one problem to discuss, please tell the team when booking the appointment.

Seeing the doctor may not always be necessary, and you will be asked to provide a brief reason for your appointment. This is so you can be booked with the most appropriate clinician while ensuring that adequate time has been booked.

Extended Hours Appointments

Extended hours appointments are now available at Merepark Medical Centre on:

  • Tuesday – 18:30-20:00
  • Wednesday – 18:30-20:00
  • Thursday – 18:30-20:00
  • Friday – 18:30-20:00

Please ask at reception for more details.

Home Visits

As the doctors are very busy we ask for your co-operation in attending surgery whenever possible.

If you are too unwell or too immobile to attend, please telephone 01270 275600 before 10:00am. Monday to Friday as this assists in the planning of doctor visits in the early afternoon.

It is helpful if you can give the team member you speak to the reason for the home visit request. This is so that the doctor can prioritise the urgency of the request. We will ask for your up-to-date contact information in case the doctor wishes to speak with you before the visit.

Patients recently discharged from hospital, who need nursing follow up, will be seen by the district nursing team.

Visits take place after morning surgery usually between 11:30 and 15:00.
